The Apple Store is now taking preorders for the new iPhone 4 for AT&T Wireless in Black. (The white model isn't currently available.) The 16GB model costs $199, while the 32GB model costs $299, both when signing a new 2-year agreement with AT&T Wireless. Free shipping applies, and sales tax is added where applicable. (It's also available for in-store pickup.) It's scheduled for delivery on June 24.

The new iPhone 4 is powered by the Apple A4 processor and features a new 326-ppi (pixel per inch) Retina 3.5" display running at 960x640. A gyroscope has also been added, which when coupled with the accelerometer, allows for 6-axis motion sensing. A front-facing camera for video conferencing is new, while the rear-facing camera has been upgraded to 5 megapixels and now features an LED flash. It's also capable of recording 720p video at 30 fps. Other new features include 802.11n wireless networking, dual microphones, a larger battery, and more.

Apple announces iPhone 4 for $199 or $299, preorders start June 15

At today's WWDC, Steve Jobs announced the new Apple iPhone 4, available in 16GB and 32GB models in either White or Black, for $199 or $299, respectively, when signing a new 2-year agreement with AT&T. It measures in at 9.3mm thick (24% thinner than the current model) and sports a glass front and back with stainless steel rim. Apple announces iPhone OS 4: Multitasking, folders, game center, more

Today, Apple announced its upcoming iPhone OS 4. To be released this summer, this update brings over 100 new user features to the iPhone OS. Some of the major upgrades include multitasking, folders-based organization, email updates (including a unified inbox and support for multiple Exchange accounts), iBooks for iPhone, more secure Enterprise support, game center (with achievements and social networking), and iAd mobile advertising. The full list of updates will apply to iPhone 3GS and third-generation iPod touch models; iPhone 3G and earlier iPod touch models will run "many things" However, these older models will not receive all features, most notably multitasking.

Geohot is an iPhone hacker and creator of blackra1n. Today he posted a movie showing an untethered jailbreak that supposed to work on all current tethered models, iPod touch G2, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch G3 and should probably also work on the iPad! We don’t know when this jailbreak will be available.
